Employer Services
The Employer Services Department serves as the primary point of contact for all employers associated to 32BJ. Its primary function is to assist employers remain compliant in accordance with all Funds collections policies and procedures associated with their Collective Bargaining Agreement. This includes but is not limited to assistance with roster maintenance, contribution reporting, payments, member eligibility concerns, and new business set-up. Employer Services also offers comprehensive Employer Self-Service (ESS) training for both new and returning users, ensuring they can confidently report all required information, which is essential for success when using the Funds systems of record. Training webinars are offered twice per week (Click here to see available dates). Employers can also request in-person training at the Funds’ Manhattan office or at their own location by emailing ERTraining@32BJFunds.com.

Billing and Collections
The Billing and Collections Department is responsible for ensuring that all billing entities are being billed appropriately and are contributing accurately and timely.
The department achieves this by utilizing outreaches, collections support, and payroll audits to maintain compliance and identify discrepancies. Payroll audits are conducted by Schultheis & Panettieri accounting firm. The Billing & Collections department is consistently expanding its knowledge of both mature and new businesses to ensure its collections practices are not infringing on any Collective Bargaining Agreement. The department also works with an external employment firm, Raab, Sturm & Ganchrow, which assist in litigation with collections and provides addition compliance oversight.

Department of Eligibility
The Department of Eligibility (DOE) ensures that all members and their eligible dependents receive accurate benefits in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreements and plan requirements. The team manages members & eligible dependents enrollments, dependent updates, coverage changes, life events, COBRA notifications, disability approvals and Qualified Medical Child Support Order forms. The department focuses on accuracy, compliance, and timely issue resolution.

Contracts Maintenance
The 32BJ Funds Contracts Maintenance Department maintains accurate employer, work location, contract and account records across the 32BJ Funds. The Funds Contracts department collaborates closely with the bargaining teams of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) to ensure all agreements remain consistent, current, and compliant with 32BJ’s current practices. The team is also responsible for the review and entry of all Collective Bargaining Agreements in the Funds system of record helping guarantee accurate and up to date billing and eligibility calculations.
